Standard Bank on 7th December held a prestigious Be More Invitational Golf at the 18-hole Lilongwe Golf Club course.
A field of over 140 golfers took part in the competition, a patronage described as the largest in 2019 at Lilongwe Golf Club. To ensure total inclusivity of golfers from all categories, Standard Bank categorised the competition as follows; men, ladies, professionals and juniors. The game had a shot-gun start at 9 and prize presentation was held at 5pm.
At the end of it all, seasoned golfer Vinai Ganatra won the men’s category seconded by Chris Mpanga while Shivas Patel came third.
The ladies category was won by Sheilla Chinkhandwe while Sandra Komakech finished second.
Paul Chidale won the professional category beating Victor Kachepatsonga in second place. Christopher Mzokomera came third.
Deborah Lazalo won the junior category followed by Victor Khamalatha in second.
At the tournament, Standard Bank showcased it’s Car Financing capability through the Vehicle and Asset Finance Offering where different cars were displayed and customers had the opportunity to test drive. The set up of the event had a total of 4 drinking wells where digital products were also on display.
In 2019 alone, the Bank has sponsored three golf tournaments. On March 30 the Bank welcomed the golf fraternity at Blantyre Sports Club for the 247 Moments ladies golf tournament and on October 5 returned to the same venue with the Business Online (BOL) golf tournament.
